Pen Products - Indiana

The marketing division of the Indiana Department of Corrections, Pen Products sells and distributes the various goods and services produced by offenders housed in the Indiana Penal System. 

A few of the products include laundry and cleaning solutions, college dormitory furniture, prison cell furniture, office furniture, agricultural products, and food processing services.

PEN PRODUCTS SCOPE OF WORK:

Design and install nine discreet audio and video presentation systems, supported with lighting control to highlight specific products for their new showroom.

Automate each room so clients would consistently experience each display presentation as designed by the Pen Products Marketing Department.

Sensors automatically activate each presentation area as a client tours the showroom.  Lighting levels are automatically adjusted on specific products as the presentation unfolds - highlighting that product's benefits and attributes. 

Other challenges involved providing a “cleaning mode” (all lights on but no presentations begin), a ”sleep mode” (all lights off except for emergency path lighting) and a “manual mode” (to accommodate large groups with multiple tour guides).  Selection of each “mode” is performed at the reception desk by simply pressing a button on a panel the size of a single gang light switch.
